Privacy Policy

Take 139 and IMAGO are pastoral diagnostics. The information you give us is sensitive by nature — the shape of your inner life, the pattern of your conflict, the questions your soul is asking. We treat it the way we'd want our own treated. This page tells you, in plain language, what we collect, why, and what we do (and don't do) with it.

Section One

The short version

We collect only what we need to deliver your report and let you sign back in to read it again. We don't sell anything to anyone. We don't run advertising. Your assessment answers are never shared with a third party for marketing purposes, and we don't use your data to train AI models. Two human beings — Dr. Christopher Hilken and his immediate team — can see your data when there is a real reason to (you wrote in for support, or a payment dispute needs reconciling). That's it.

If you only read one paragraph

You can ask us to delete your account and every record we hold for you, at any time, by emailing hello@take139.com. We will do it within seven days and reply when it's done.

Section Two

What we collect

When you take Take 139 or IMAGO, we collect the answers you give to the assessment items, the name and email address you provide on the finalize step, and (if you bought through Stripe) a confirmation that the payment cleared. We do not see your card number; that lives only with Stripe.

When you sign in to your dashboard, we store a session token in your browser so you don't have to magic-link in every time. Sessions expire automatically after 30 days of inactivity.

When you click "Email My Report," we store the email address you sent it to so we can resend if the first one bounced.

We collect basic technical information that any website collects automatically: your IP address (used briefly for abuse prevention; not retained long-term), the type of browser you used, and the pages you visited. We do not currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on our pages.

Section Three

What we don't collect

Section Four

How your assessment answers are used

Your answers are used to generate your report — the personal profile, the long walkthrough, the couples synthesis if you pair with someone. They are stored on our server so that your dashboard can show them to you on later visits, and so that you can re-download the PDFs at any time.

Aggregate, anonymized statistics may be used in academic or methodology writing (e.g. "47% of users in our beta cohort presented with a primary trigger of Provision"), but never in a way that identifies you. We will never quote your specific answers, your name, your email, or anything that could identify you, in a publication or talk, unless you give explicit written permission first.

Your answers are not used to train artificial intelligence models — ours or anyone else's.

Section Five

Who can see your data

Dr. Christopher Hilken (founder) and a small operating team can technically access the database. We only look at individual records when there's a real operational reason: you wrote in for help, a payment is being reconciled, or a bug needs reproducing. We don't browse the database for fun, and we don't share names, emails, or assessment content with people outside the operating team.

Our infrastructure providers (Railway for the application server, Resend for email delivery, Stripe for payments) can see only the slices of data they need to do their job. They are bound by their own privacy commitments and standard data-processing agreements.

Section Six

Couples Reports and pairing

When two people pair their profiles via a CONNECT code, the resulting Couples Report is emailed to both of them and is visible on both of their dashboards. By pairing, you are giving consent for your partner to see your archetype label, your primary trigger, and the synthesis paragraphs about your relational dynamic. Your raw item-by-item answers are not shown to your partner.

If you re-pair with someone new from your dashboard, your previous partner receives a short, pastoral notification email letting them know the pairing has been archived. Their copy of the original Couples Report remains in their dashboard archive; nothing of theirs is deleted.

Section Seven

How long we keep things

Your assessment records are kept indefinitely so that you can return to your dashboard months or years later and still find your reports waiting. If you ask us to delete your account, all assessment records, dashboard data, and pairing history tied to your email are removed from production databases within seven days. Backups roll off within 30 days after that.

Stripe retains a record of any successful payment for as long as their own retention policies require (typically seven years for tax purposes); that record is held by Stripe, not us, and is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

Section Eight

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to:

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you these rights formally. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) does the same. We honor all of these requests regardless of where you live.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@take139.com from the email address tied to your account. We respond within seven days.

Section Nine

Children

Take 139 and IMAGO are not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted an assessment, please write to hello@take139.com and we will delete the record immediately.

Section Ten

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in any substantive way — for example, by adding analytics, changing how long we retain data, or adding a new third-party service — we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the change materially affects you, send an email to your registered address before the change takes effect.

Section Eleven
